The GI-MAP DNA Stool Test analyzes the presence and quantity of the multiple probiotic species that proliferate the digestive tract, which are collectively called the “Gut Microbiome”. In addition to maintaining digestive health, the Gut Microbiome is essential for blood sugar control, weight management, neurotransmitter production, and thyroid hormone production.

This test identifies the DNA of any bacterial, viral, yeast, or parasitic infection (including worms). Gallbladder function, pancreatic function, immunity of the gut, and inflammation of the gut are all analyzed in addition to antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This DNA test includes a “Fecal Immunochemical Test” (FIT) marker, which is a screening test for colon cancer and hidden blood in the stool. If the FIT marker is abnormally high, a colonoscopy is recommended. This is an at-home kit with instructions. Results typically received within 14-21 days.
